Beatlemania! Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan’s Schedules Look Clear for Mendes' Movies

Plus, my thoughts on 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die,' and Shawn Levy circling the director's chair on Marvel's new 'Avengers' movie.

Happy Wednesday, folks!

I’m off to see Ishana Night Shyamalan’s thriller The Watchers tonight, and last night, I saw Jeff Nichols’ movie The Bikeriders, which I’ll be able to write about closer to its release on June 21.

After that, my buddy signed up for a free seven-day trial for Shudder, and we watched Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever, which was better than I was expecting, thanks largely to its leading lady, Fanny Bornedal. Yes, she’s the director’s daughter, but nepotism paid off in this case, as she impressed me, ultimately coming across like a Danish Saoirse Ronan.

From there, I went to a little party for Tyler-Marie Evans’ new short film Mirage, which premiered last night at Soho House. Evans is an up-and-coming director whose work interests me, and I hope to be able to write more about her soon.

In tonight’s newsletter, you’ll read a more complete story about Sam Mendes’ casting search for his four Beatles movies at Sony, my review of the studio’s latest Bad Boys movie, and my thoughts on Shawn Levy circling Marvel’s next Avengers movie, plus a whole lot more.
