'For Your Consideration' Returns! Hollywood's Top Oscar Pundits Set the Table for Awards Season

Happy Friday, folks, and welcome back to Season 7 of For Your Consideration, which is Hollywood’s #1 awards-themed talk show.

Perri Nemiroff and I created FYC back in 2018 when we worked together at Collider, and we knew immediately that Scott Mantz would be the perfect host for the show, with Perri and I all too happy to play his wingmen.

Perri is still doing her thing at Collider, and on the big screen as one of the hosts of Noovie, while you know Scott from Access Hollywood and KTLA. The two of them are also among Hollywood’s top Q&A moderators, so not only does the talent know them, but so do voters — the same industry voters I talk to all day long as a reporter.

For Your Consideration offers the kind of frank discussion about the Oscars that you won’t find anywhere else. Over the past six seasons, Scott, Perri, and I have developed an unrivaled chemistry, and since we’re all so different and come at movies differently, we offer the perfect blend of awards analysis and insightful punditry.

Oscar voters and casual viewers can count on us to give it to them straight and tell it like it is, and I think Hollywood needs that kind of reality check from time to time.

FYC holds a mirror up to awards season, and while we do stump for our favorites every now and then, we also keep our finger on the pulse of award season, so we know when to give up our personal crusades and offer clear-eyed, objective commentary.

We have ambitious plans for FYC this season, as we’d like to incorporate some interviews into the show, and possibly host some roundtables as well. This week on For Your Consideration, we recap the year in movies thus far and disagree on Dune: Part Two’s Best Picture hopes before previewing the fall festival season, which is already underway with the Venice Film Festival in full swing.

We don’t really do a deep dive into a particular category in this episode, which is more of a table-setter for the season in general, but future episodes will typically see us focus on a single category.
