Plus, Tom Cruise reunites with director Doug Liman, Anya Taylor-Joy returns to TV, 'Scream 7' adds fresh meat, and David Greenbaum proves himself the bidding war king.
Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and a fun little holiday break. I passed on turkey in favor of an everything bagel and watched a ton of football before taking in Moana 2 this weekend along with the rest of America. The sequel wasn’t as good as the original but it got the job done, and my two nieces were entertained.
They’re also looking forward to the Lion King prequel Mufasa later this month, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Give me a couple more years with ‘em and they’ll be watching Nosferatu in no time…
I’ve been watching a ton of movies with my family, including The Order, The Apprentice, and Saturday Night. I also showed my father and his girlfriend The Substance, which made my father wonder if director Coralie Fargeat had ever spent time in a mental institution. Yeah… that movie is definitely not for everyone.
Dad and I started watching the new espionage series The Agency starring Michael Fassbender, which I found a little underwhelming, though I plan to stick with it beyond the two episodes that are now available on Paramount+ with Showtime (ugh).
Tonight, you’ll read an update about the status of the Insidious franchise at Sony, and you’ll also read about the latest major bidding war won by Disney’s David Greenbaum.
There are also items about Tom Cruise reuniting with director Doug Liman, Anya Taylor-Joy returning to television, the latest addition to Scream 7, the casting of convicted killer Alex Murdaugh in Hulu’s upcoming limited series, who will host SNL later this month, and when you’ll be able to see Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck. Plus, my thoughts on Disney’s Lilo & Stitch teaser.
