Plus, Armie Hammer exits the acting slammer, Idris Elba takes the wheel of 'Hammer Down,' and J.J. Abrams fires up an animated movie based on 'Emily the Strange.'

Happy Wednesday, everyone, and congrats to the Los Angeles Dodgers on winning the World Series tonight! As a Red Sox fan, I’m always delighted when the Yankees lose, so I’m celebrating with L.A. tonight as a longtime Angeleno.

There are also items about Armie Hammer booking a new acting gig, Idris Elba getting behind the wheel of a big rig, and J.J. Abrams producing an animated movie based on Emily the Strange. Plus, my thoughts on the Unstoppable trailer starring Jennifer Lopez.
