Who Will Succeed Kathleen Kennedy Atop Lucasfilm Even Though She Isn’t Going to a Galaxy Too Far Away?
Plus, my thoughts on James Gunn's latest "exclusive" press event at DC Studios, the latest 'Clayface' casting rumor, and the trailer for Nicole Kidman's new thriller 'Holland.'

Happy Tuesday, folks!
I’m back in Los Angeles after a much-needed week with my family in Boston, where both of my brothers seemed to fall for Anora and the goofy charm of Mark Eydelshteyn.
I have yet to comment on Sunday night’s SAG Awards, but I wouldn’t pay much attention to them regarding the Oscars. SAG’s membership is about 16 times larger than the Academy’s membership, which is much older and more refined.
So while Demi Moore may have convinced enough of her fellow actors to vote for her at the SAG Awards, I’m not convinced she’ll win the Oscar. The same goes for her fellow SAG Award winner Timothee Chalamet.
Of course, Conclave’s win for Best Ensemble was the big shocker of the evening, though it wasn’t really, as I never thought Wicked had a serious chance here, and without The Brutalist in the lineup, its only competition was Anora, which features a largely unknown, international cast.
Yes, Conclave is still alive in the Best Picture race, but I definitely don’t think that The Brutalist is out of the hunt just because it didn’t win certain precursors, which are silly, seeing as how there are exceptions to each one of them.
But hey, we’ll see come Sunday night… and be sure to catch my final Oscar predictions on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. PT on this season’s penultimate episode of For Your Consideration.
Tonight, you’ll read about the top-secret press event that DC Studios held on the WB lot, where James Gunn doesn’t invite journalists who are critical of his administration. Sound familiar?
Plus, we dig into the shocking!!! news that Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from Lucasfilm three full months after this little newsletter tipped that she’d be exiting by the end of the year.
There are also items about Ayo Edebiri loving the Barney movie, Scott Stuber teaming up with Edward Berger, the cast of Charlie Kaufman’s next movie, Lizzy Caplan’s new crisis PR series, J.K. Simmons reuniting with Brad Pitt, the trailer for Nicole Kidman’s new thriller, and the tragic death of screenwriter Roberto Orci at just 51 years old.
